The Company is developing procurement networks in sub-Saharan Africa for the purchase of primary ores, metals and minerals. We are focused on supporting smaller, often informal mining organisations and are in the process of developing branches in central Africa. Eurotrade operates warehouses in Durban, for material handling, processing, bagging, sampling etc. The company has an in house laboratory and an x-ray spectrometer.
We are fully equipped to sample, handle, process, crush, bag and transport any mineral at our Durban warehouses. Our warehouses are secure, owned by us, and the minerals handling areas are highly clean and fully concreted. Rotating head forklifts, hundreds of small 1mt storage bins provide ideal storage systems, allow for accurate batch sampling and efficient loading. We also own S250 Bobcats with grapple buckets, and a 20mt excavator with a 500-liter cactus grab. Our operational material management system are ideal for high value ores such as cobalt bearing minerals or tantalite, as well as volume lines such as copper ore. Miners, traders and consumers are provided transparency on the material management systems, and can if necessary be provided with remote logon's to our warehouse video surveillance system, allowing them to view their materials in storage and supervise the process from a computer anywhere in the world.
A number of LME and MMTA approved samplers and assayers service the Durban market, and can be present during all aspects of loading, processing and dispatch. We also have secure storage bays, allowing goods to be sealed in storage pending independent assay. Our 1mt storage bins can also be chained together to prevent tampering. For regular supplies we can calibrate the x-ray spectrometer to test regular deliveries, to provide an interim reference/ guide pending finalisation by the independent samplers. Additional full service security can also be provided from a number of independent security professionals registered with the South Africa Security Officers Board, to suit the needs of the parties concerned, over and above the full time security guards that operate on the premises.
We seek to ensure that our central procurement, handling and processing is streamlined with the specifications, regulations, customs and practices used within the international market place, to ensure a crisp and professional service to international markets.
As well as trading ores, Eurotrade can handle materials on a cost per ton basis, providing full service from unloading to dispatch, in a highly secure, confidential and professional manner. Furthermore the Eurotrade Shipping Department can send goods to any destination, and if required documents can be sent directly to banking institutions through our Group integrated confidential FreightMet transportation and documents company, greatly reducing the time involved in presenting documents.
International mining companies have also benefited from sending trial loads to the Eurotrade Minerals Warehouse in Durban, and allowing the Eurotrade Minerals team to market their goods. Benefits have included accurate verification and substantiation of the goods in a reliable location, which cannot always be achieved in other African locations, as well as getting access to a large number of consumers and traders throughout the world market place. Many new and developing mining companies do not always have the international exposure, sales channels, and expertise to maximize the profitability of their materials. Eurotrade is ideally positioned to create win-win scenarios for both buyers and sellers, whilst providing accuracy on weights and quality.
Eurotrade is a member of the MMTA.
